IRGC Establishes Field Hospital at Iraq Border to Support Arbaeen Pilgrims

ALWAGHT- With the Arbaeen season in full swing and large crowds of Iranians traveling to Iraq, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Force has set up a large temporary hospital at a western border crossing to offer medical services to the pilgrims.

A temporary specialty hospital with 128 beds has been established at the Khosravi border crossing in Iran's western province of Kermanshah by the IRGC Ground Force. General Ahmad Akhavan, the deputy commander of the combat medical unit, stated that the facility is staffed by 80 physicians and medics.

The mobile hospital offers a range of specialized diagnostic and therapeutic services, including eight ICU beds, four CCU beds, laboratories, operating rooms, a pharmacy, and dental care units. All services provided at the IRGC's field hospital are free of charge.

According to the director of Iran's central headquarters for Arbaeen, over 1.5 million Iranian and foreign pilgrims had crossed into Iraq via six border crossings by August 15 for the Arbaeen pilgrimage. The Iranian Army has also set up five additional field hospitals at the Shalamcheh, Chazzabeh, Mehran, Khosravi, and Tamarchin border crossings to provide medical services to the pilgrims.

The Iraqi city of Karbala, home to the holy shrine of the third Shi’a imam, Imam Hussein (AS), is currently hosting millions of devoted Muslims participating in Arbaeen, the largest religious gathering in the world.
