ALWAGHT- The Iraqi Resistance Coordination Committee (IRCC) emphasized its commitment to targeting US interests in Iraq and across Western Asia if Israel initiates a military attack on Lebanon.
The IRCC, representing a coalition of anti-terrorism groups, declared that Iraqi operations would significantly escalate if Israel launches a large-scale attack on Lebanon.
"If Israel undertakes such a military assault, US interests in Iraq and the wider region will be deemed legitimate targets for resistance forces," the statement asserted.
The committee also called for decisive action against Arab nations that engage in compromises with Israel amidst ongoing violence in Palestine.
"In response to ongoing massacres in Palestine, firm stances must be taken against Arab countries aligning with the Zionist regime," it emphasized.
Criticism was directed at the Basra-Aqaba pipeline project, a proposed 2,000-kilometer pipeline from Basra to the Jordanian port of Aqaba, intended to transport one million barrels per day. "This pipeline risks involving Iraq in a scheme that facilitates normalization with the occupying Zionist entity," the statement cautioned.
Last week, Qais al-Khazali, secretary-general of Iraq’s Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq resistance group, warned Israel against initiating a new war on Lebanon, asserting that US strategic interests in West Asia would be targeted in such a scenario.
