Alwaght- The Yemeni army and Ansarullah movement have launched three missiles on Saudi province of Jizan in response to Thursday Saudi airstrikes.
The air raids on Yemen’s coastal city of Hudaydah killed at least 20 civilians and injured 10 others.
A military source told Ansarullah-run Al-Massira news channel that the Zilzal-3 (Earthquake-3) missiles hit a concentration of the Saudi forces in southern Saudi Arabia.
“The three missiles were fired at the center of the Saudi border guards post in Al-Khuba region in Jizan, south of Saudi Arabia,” the news channel reported.
Information about the casualties of the missile attack is yet to come out.
Also in retaliation, Ansarullah and army's artillery units pounded a military bulldozer of the Saudi military in Jabal al-Dud in the same region. The attack led to the full destruction of the vehicle.
Since last year, the Yemenis intensified their missile attacks on the Saudi targets as the Saudi campaign unfolded with no signs of halting.
A major rocket strike targeted Riyadh International Airport in late March this year in response to the Saudi atrocities against the Yemeni civilians.
Yemen made considerable missile advances during the years of war, warning the Saudi-led coalition that it will strike back after any air raids in the country.
Since June, the Saudi-UAE coalition has been pushing to seize the port of Hudaydah in southern Yemen. The port city is now held by Ansarullah, a revolutionary movement that also runs a government in the capital Sana’a and other northern provinces.
The port city is a key lifeline of the impoverished country. Saudi-led coalition imposed a thorough blockade on the country from air, sea, and ground.
The Saudi-led campaign for Hudaydah so far proved a failure as the Yemeni forces remain in control. The raids on the city, from sea, ground, and air, so far took the lives of hundreds.
Saudi Arabia launched a war on Yemen in March 2015, days after President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi resigned and escaped to Riyadh. The Saudi rulers struggle to foist back Mansour Hadi on the country.
UN-sponsored intra-Yemeni peace talks have been going very slowly, mainly marred by pressures by Riyadh. In early September, Saudi fighter jets prevented a UN plane from carrying Ansarullah delegation to Geneva, where peace talks were scheduled to be held.
Four years of Arab coalition’s war on Yemen have killed thousands of Yemeni civilians, injured further, and yet displaced millions. Women and children have been the core victims of the conflict.
