ALWAGHT- The UAE has suspended the contract for purchasing 80 fighter jets from France and is also contemplating halting military cooperation with the European nation following the arrest of Pavel Durov.
Media outlets have reported that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is considering a total halt to military-technical cooperation with France following the arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov in Paris.
According to Avia.pro, citing media sources, "The UAE is contemplating a complete blockade of military-technical cooperation with France after the detention of Telegram founder Pavel Durov in Paris."
Additionally, reports indicate that the UAE has already suspended the contract to purchase 80 fighter jets from France following Durov's arrest.
As EADaily reported, the UAE Foreign Ministry has called on France to provide Pavel Durov, a UAE citizen detained in Paris, with full access to necessary consular services. In a statement published by the WAM agency, the ministry emphasized that "The Emirates are closely monitoring the situation of Emirati citizen Pavel Durov, founder of the Telegram social network, who was detained by French authorities at Le Bourget airport, and have demanded that the French government urgently provide all necessary consular assistance."
