Alwaght- Syrian government forces, in cooperation with allied forces, seized control of fifteen more villages and areas in southern Aleppo countryside, eliminating the last gatherings and fortified positions of al-Nusra terrorist group and its affiliates.
Local media reported that army units on Saturday continued their advance in the villages and areas where terrorists of al-Nusra and its affiliated groups were positioned, regaining control of Qaiqan, Ayyubiya, Kafr Abish, Bluzeh, al-Muntar, al-Safa, Tallil al-Safa, Kafr Kar, Banan, Um Jurn, al-Zera’a, Burj al-Rumman, Hafrat al-Hoss, Abu Ghatta and Jib Jasim.
The swift and accurate operations resulted in the elimination of many terrorists and the destruction of their weapons and equipment, according to reports.
Engineering units also combed the villages and towns to remove the mines and explosive devices planted by terrorists between the homes of citizens, main streets and public squares.
Over the past two days, army units regained control of the villages of Oum Ankash, al-Salihiye, Burj Hussein Daher, Tal Soma’a, Jub Atnash Foqani, Jub Atnash Tahtani, Suhour, al-Hardana, al-Asadiya, Rasm al-Ameesh, Huwair al-Hoss, al-Banawi, Jub al-A’ama, Um Khan and Um al-Amad Qebli.
Syrian forces are engaged in intensive operations to wipe out remnants of terrorists in many parts of the country after a successful offensive to retake all territories previously occupied by ISIS terrorist group in the country. Syria has been gripped by a foreign-backed insurgency since 2011 which has led to the killing of hundreds of thousands of civilians and displacing of millions.
