Alwaght- Syrian government forces and local allies on Wednesday fully liberated all the neighborhoods in Aleppo's Old City with victory looking close in recapturing the whole region East of Aleppo from terrorists.
Sources say army units, in cooperation with allied forces, restored security and stability to a number of neighborhoods in eastern Aleppo.
The source pointed out that army units carried out operations against the gatherings and fortified positions of terrorist organizations in which full stability and security were restored to the neighborhoods of Bab al-Hadid, Jadit al-Khandak, al-Hamideh, Qadi Askar, al-Mashatia, Karm al-Jabal and the streets of Nour Eddin al-Zanki and Bab al-Nassr in Aleppo city.
The army’s engineering units are combing the above mentioned areas to dismantle the explosive devices and mines which were planted earlier by terrorists in the streets and squares.
Syria Forces Rapid Advance
Meanwhile Syrian forces and local allies continued advance in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo and restored stability and security to the neighborhoods of al-Jadida, al-Farafira, Aqil, Qastal al-Harami, Beit al-Qanas and al-Salihen.
Late Wednesday reports indicated that Syria’s government forces have regained control over 15 districts of the city of Aleppo, retaking 70% of the city’s eastern part from terrorists. According to the Russian center for reconciliation of warring sides in Syria, "In the past 24 hours, on December 7, the Syrian army liberated 15 districts of eastern Aleppo from militants.".
Over the past 24 hours, 1,200 civilians left Aleppo’s districts controlled by terrorists. The Russian reconciliation center provides them with hot meals, warm clothing and essentials. Besides, the statement says that 66 terrorists laid down their arms and left for western Aleppo. In line with the Syrian president’s decree, they were amnestied.
Russia Warns Terrorist Refusing to Leave Aleppo
Earlier, Russia offered the remaining terrorists the opportunity to pull out of the city, while warning that those who refuse the offer and stay will be considered terrorists and, thus, legitimate targets. It was expected that the solution would be backed by the US, but American diplomats abruptly postponed talks scheduled for this week, while withdrawing its own proposal, which reportedly detailed the pullout plan.
Over 30,000 civilians have fled eastern Aleppo over the past two weeks toward government-controlled areas in the western part of the city.
The Syrian army says it will press on with the operation until all terrorist-held areas in eastern Aleppo are recaptured. The terrorists captured eastern Aleppo in 2012, and the government forces recently imposed a siege on that area before unleashing a broad offensive for its recapture.
Humanitarian organizations sounded the alarm about the situation of 250,000 people living in eastern Aleppo, with the government promising to fix the situation of those relocated in government-controlled areas.
President Assad: Aleppo Victory Huge Step to End War
Meanwhile Syria President Bashar al Assad on Wednesday said the latest victory in Aleppo will be a huge step towards end of the five year war in Syria.
Syria’s National Reconciliation Minister Ali Haidar hailed the army's advance against militants in Aleppo as a "strategic victory" that will prevent foreign intervention.
"Those who believed in the Syrian triumph know that [the terrorists'] morale is at its lowest and that these collapses that have begun are like domino tiles," he told reporters in the capital, Damascus.
The major advances by Syrian Forces and local allies in Aleppo have dealt a decisive blow against the alliance of Saudi Arabia, the US and Turkey.
After Aleppo falls, Syrian forces will now focus on Raqqah the de facto capital of the foreign-backed ISIS Takfiri terrorists group.
