Indian Forces Injure 25 Kashmiris

Unrest in Kashmir

At least 25 people were injured in clashes between Indian security forces and Kashmiri protestors on Sunday

Alwaght- At least 25 people were injured in clashes between Indian security forces and Kashmiri protestors on Sunday.

Protestors in various parts of Kashmir took to the streets and were faced with an iron fist of the Indian security forces who used pellets and live fire to disperse them.

The protests in Kashmir entered its 100th day on Sunday with many protestors still on the streets of the South Kashmir’s Shopian district where at least 20 persons were injured.

In another incident similar clashes erupted in Nagbal village against the alleged beating and vandalizing of property by forces. Witnesses said that forces allegedly thrashed the inmates after barging into their houses in Urpara village at around 3 AM today

At least 94 people including two cops have been killed so far while over 14000 have sustained injuries. More than 750 people have sustained pellet injuries in their eyes with majority of them on the verge of losing eye-sight partially or fully.

After four decades of political struggles and fights was deemed ineffective, the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front launched an armed struggle against India, which became the excuse for the Indian forces’ invasion of Kashmir. In 2008 when the state government decided to sell a plot of land to non-resident Hindus for building a shrine, the big and peaceful people's defiance was met with bloody repression.
