Alwaght- A Yemeni military source revealed on Thursday that the army and Popular Forces have targeted a tank belonging to resigned President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi’s forces while two Saudi soldiers were killed by sniper bullets in Najran, southwestern Saudi Arabia.
The first attack came as Hadi’s forces were trying to advance toward Melh Valley northeast of the capital Sana’a. The military vehicle was burned and resulted in casualties.
Meanwhile, sporadic clashes between the Yemeni army and Popular Forces on the one hand, and Hadi’s forces backed by the Saudi-led coalition on the other, persisted in the areas of al-Madfoun and al-Majaweha as well as in the Ma’rib governorate.
Concurrently, the coalition’s war planes launched an airstrike on the area of Hailan west of Ma’arib.
Nearby in al-Jawf, four civilians from the tribe of Hamadan were killed and others were injured during fierce confrontations near the government compound in Hazm city. These battles left 7 of Hadi’s forces dead and an armed tank destroyed.
Armed forces loyal to Hadi then showered the civilian-populated villages of al-Kharba and al-Mahzam with heavy artillery shelling.
Closer to the border, the military source said both sides were continuing to shell one another along the line that separates Yemen from Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, two Saudi soldiers were confirmed dead by sniper bullets fired by the army and Popular Forces in the Nawaka position, Najran as other sites were also targeted.
Yemen has been under Saudi-led attacks for more than a year. Despite the brutality of the war, the Saudi aggression has been met with resistance and it seems Yemenis are adamant they will emerge triumphant from under the wreckage.
