Russian long-range bombers destroyed on Tuesday a large camp for ISIS in Palmyra, three weapon depots, three tanks, four armored vehicles, and eight vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns, in addition to killing a significant number of terrorists.

Since September 30th 2015, the Russian Aerospace Forces have carried out hundreds of air strikes against ISIS positions in Syria, which resulted in destroying thousands of targets, including facilities, explosives and bomb making workshops, command centers, training camps, and munitions and fuel depots.

Meanwhile, Russian defense Minister Sergey Shoygu affirmed on Friday that his country’s participation in the war against terrorism in Syria has prevented a lot of terrorists from returning to Russia.
“Nearly 4500 persons from Russia and League of Independent states have joined the terrorist organizations in Syria in the beginning of 2015,” Shoygu said in a speech at a scientific conference held in Moscow about the Russian military operations in Syria, adding that the military operation in Syria has helped prevent thousands of terrorists from returning to Russia.

He stressed that the Russian air force operations in Syria have resulted in the killing of more than 2 thousand terrorists who had infiltrated from Russia and the League, among them were 17 field leaders.

The Russian Minister considered that the experience of the Russian army in combating terrorist organizations in Syria will strengthen the Russian armed forces and raise the level of their capabilities.
