Alwaght-America's secretary of state, John Kerry, met his country's allies in Jeddah on Thursday to plan to fight against ISIS terrorist group. However, Turkey was the only participant who did not sign the final statement. According to Turkish press reports, military cooperation against ISIS Terrorist Group was one of the most important reasons for turkey's refusal from signing the statement.
Regarding this issue, John Kerry traveled to Ankara on Friday to change Turkey's official stances that led to nowhere.
Turkey seeks its own goals in Iraq and Syria and wants to weaken and even topple Syrian and Iraqi government. Ahmet Davutoglu has already emphasized that Turkey needs to spread its influence in the East. Turkey daydreams about establishing an Empaire like that of Ottaman.
Turkey has relatively good relations with ISIS Terrorist Group. Turkey's state media, also, believe that the world should give ISIS Terrorist Group an opportunity for negotiation. In addition, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish president, has not recognized ISIS Terrorist Group as a terrorist organization yet.
Turkish officials claim that ISIS Terrorist Group has kidnapped 49 diplomats after the occupation of the Turkish Consulate in Mosul, which they use as an excuse not to take part in any military action against them. On the other hand, It seems that Ankara would not allow any airstrikes to be carried out from its bases against ISIS Terrorist Group position.
However, some experts believe that all above mentioned reasons are fake and the true reason behind Turkey's reluctance for participating in America-led coalition is their awareness of the scenario behind this coalition, namely America's re-return to Iraq. Indeed, some analysts believe that America does not seek to eradicate terrorism, but a pretext to attack countries that are not obedient to its policies.
