Iran Seeks Enhanced Cooperation with Persian Gulf States: Foreign Minister

ALWAGHT- Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi detailed Iran's strategy for increased cooperation with the southern Persian Gulf nations to strengthen collective efforts against the Israeli regime's malicious actions.

During a meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Abbas Araghchi emphasized Iran's commitment to good neighborly relations, a key principle of Tehran's administration. He highlighted Iran's intention to strengthen ties with regional nations.

Araghchi condemned the recent actions of the Israeli regime, accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of resorting to criminal measures to escape the Gaza crisis. He noted that Israel's attempt to annihilate Hamas in Gaza had failed, leaving it in a desperate situation.

The Iranian foreign minister also vowed retaliation for the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in an Israeli strike in Tehran, emphasizing that the crime would not go unanswered. Araghchi criticized Israel’s actions as a significant threat to both regional and global peace.

He called for increased cooperation among regional countries to counter the Israeli regime's harmful activities and affirmed Iran's desire for open dialogue and engagement with the southern Persian Gulf states. Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al Yahya expressed support for Iran's neighborhood policy and hoped for stronger regional ties.
