ALWAGHT- A senior official from the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement stated that the six Israeli captives found dead in a tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip were killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes on the besieged coastal area.
"The ones responsible for killing our people daily are the Israeli colonizers using American weapons. The captives found in Gaza were not killed by us, but by the relentless Zionist bombardment," stated Izzat al-Rishq, a member of Hamas's political bureau, in a statement on Sunday.
He further criticized the United States, saying, "If President Biden truly cares about the lives of Israeli hostages, he should stop supporting this enemy with money and weapons and press Israel to end its aggression immediately."
Rishq emphasized that Hamas was more concerned for the hostages' lives than Biden himself, noting that Hamas had agreed to a ceasefire proposal and the UN Security Council's resolution, both of which were rejected by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Hamas has proposed releasing Israeli captives in exchange for an end to the war on Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the release of a significant number of Palestinian prisoners.
To date, the Zionist regime has martyred at least 40,691 people in Gaza, the majority of whom are women, children, and adolescents. Additionally, 94,060 Palestinians have been injured.
