ALWAGHT- The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the terrorist attack in central Burkina Faso on Saturday, which resulted in the deaths of up to 200 people.
On Tuesday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani condemned the deadly attack in Burkina Faso's Barsalogho region, which resulted in numerous casualties among both military personnel and civilians. Kanaani extended his condolences to the Burkinabe government and the families of the victims, and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
The attack, claimed by the al-Qaeda-linked group JNIM, occurred on Saturday and left up to 200 people dead and at least 140 injured. The assailants targeted individuals digging trenches for security outposts, leaving several soldiers missing and seizing weapons and a military ambulance.
Over the past decade, armed groups have caused thousands of deaths and displaced more than two million people in Burkina Faso.
