Iran celebrates Lebanon’s ’glorious victory’ in the July 2006 War

ALWAGHT- Iran has commemorated the 18th anniversary of Lebanon's triumph in the July 2006 War, declaring that the 33-day conflict with "Israel" has come to represent a symbol of resistance against the Zionist entity.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry extended congratulations to the people, government, army, and Resistance of Lebanon, particularly Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, on the 18th anniversary of the "glorious victory" achieved by the Lebanese Islamic Resistance in the 33-day war of 2006.

The Ministry stated that the 33-day conflict has come to symbolize the resilience and strength of the Lebanese people against the Zionist regime, and will forever be remembered as a significant victory in the minds of people throughout the region.

It further noted that August 23rd, termed the Day of Islamic Resistance by the Islamic Revolution’s leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, is "a day when the Resistance and Hezbollah restored dignity to the Arab and Islamic world." The statement emphasized that with the collapse of the Zionist regime’s superficial dominance, the resilient tree of resistance against the Zionist occupiers has grown even stronger.

The Ministry praised the "brilliant victory" of the Islamic Resistance, achieved through the unity and solidarity of Lebanon’s diverse communities and the collective determination of its brave and resilient people. This victory, it added, has "ensured stability and security" while bringing pride and honor to the Lebanese people and the region, particularly to the front of resistance against Israeli occupation.
