ALWAGHT- Iran's president urged Germany to fulfill its responsibility in stopping the Zionist regime’s genocidal crimes in Gaza, calling on the European nation to reconsider its support for Israel.
In a telephone conversation with the German chancellor on Monday, Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that the global community expects European nations, particularly Germany, to take an active role in ending the Israeli regime’s genocidal war in Gaza rather than supporting it.
The president condemned the Israeli regime’s violations of international laws and its acts of genocide in the besieged Palestinian territory.
Pezeshkian also highlighted the Israeli regime’s involvement in terrorist acts in other countries, posing a significant threat to regional security and global peace. He specifically mentioned the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas political bureau, in Tehran on July 31.
“Iran will never yield to pressure, sanctions, bullying, or aggression but maintains its right to respond to aggressors in accordance with international principles,” he asserted.
He also expressed Iran’s readiness to strengthen relations with all European countries based on friendship, trust-building, and mutual respect.
The German chancellor, for his part, expressed Berlin’s strong interest in advancing relations with Iran across various sectors.
Olaf Scholz emphasized that establishing peace and security in the region is a top priority for Germany, highlighting the importance of ending Israel’s campaign of violence, destruction, and genocide in Gaza.
