ALWAGHT- In a statement released, the ISIS terrorist organization asserted accountability for the armed assault on worshipers in the Guzare district of Herat province.
According to local media reports on Tuesday, an assault on a mosque in western Afghanistan resulted in the death of at least seven individuals and left several others wounded.
During evening prayers on Monday, unidentified gunmen attacked worshipers at a Shia mosque located in Andisheh town in Guzare district of Herat province.
A prayer leader, referred to as an Imam, was among those killed in the terrorist attack, with the injured being transported to a nearby hospital.
The Iranian Embassy in Kabul condemned the terrorist attack on the mosque.
