Alwaght- Saudi regime forces have attacked a wedding ceremony in Yemen killing at least 131 including children, women and the elderly in yet another war crime against civilians in the war-torn Arab state.
The Arabic-language al-Masirah satellite television network reported that at least 131 civilians lost their lives and many more sustained injuries as Saudi fighter jets hit the celebration in the Mokha port city, situated 346 kilometers (214 miles) south of the capital, Sana'a, on Monday .
Hospital officials also said 70 women are among the victims of the airborne massacre.
The aerial attack in Wahija, south of the port city of Mokha, was at least the third in the last 10 days in which large numbers of civilians were killed by Saudi-led coalition forces.
In July, airstrikes on residential buildings at a steam plant in Mokha killed at least 65 civilians, according to Human Rights Watch, which investigated the strikes and called the bombings an “apparent war crime.”
Earlier in the day, Saudi warplanes bombarded the al-Baqa district in Yemen’s mountainous northwestern province of Sa’ada.
Elsewhere Saudi warplanes continued on Monday attacking residential areas and civil structures in the capital Sana'a.
A security source in the capital told Saba news agency that the Saudi aggression warplanes attacked for the 3rd consecutive day the heavily populated Al-Hafa and Nuqum areas as well as Al-Nahdain area and the Presidential Palace in the capital Sana'a.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for seven months now to restore power to fugitive president Abed Rabbu Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 6,300 Yemenis, mostly innocent civilians including hundreds of women and children.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah resistance fighters, who are warding off the foreign occupation of their country, Saudi warplanes are indiscriminately targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure.
