North Korean Leader Calls Trump ‘Mentally Deranged US Dotard’

North Korean Leader Calls Trump ‘Mentally Deranged US Dotard’

Alwaght- North Korean leader Kim Jong-un responded to Donald Trump’s fiery speech at the UN by threatening to “tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire.”

On Tuesday, US President addressed the United Nations General Assembly for the first time. In his controversial speech, Trump referred to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as “rocket man,” and threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea if the US was forced to defend itself.

In response, Kim issued a statement Thursday, calling Trump’s speech “unprecedented rude nonsense” and advising him to “exercise prudence in selecting words.”

"I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged U.S. dotard with fire," he was quoted as saying by North Korean official news agency, KCNA.

Kim stated that he would not abandon Pyongyang’s nuclear tests, and threatened to make Trump “pay dearly” for his speech.

“His remarks...have convinced me, rather than frightening or stopping me, that the path I chose is correct and that it is the one I have to follow to the last,” the statement read. “Action is the best option in treating the dotard who, hard of hearing, is uttering only what he wants to say.”

While his rhetoric offered nothing new of substance, Kim did introduce a lot of people to a new word, referring to Trump as a “dotard” multiple times.

Many Americans, who were hearing the word for the first time, were quick to praise Kim for his use of the uncommon English word, while some cemented it as a new nickname for Trump.

Meanwhile, North Korea says it may consider conducting its second hydrogen bomb test, which would be the “most powerful detonation” in the Pacific Ocean, the North Korean foreign minister told the media, commenting on Kim Jong-un’s latest response to Donald Trump.

If Pyongyang decides to proceed with the hydrogen bomb test, it will be the second time in just a month Pyongyang tested such a weapon. On September 3, the country claimed to have carried out its first H-bomb test, hailing it as a “perfect success” and a “meaningful” step further into the development of the nuclear program.

The current tensions on the Korean Peninsula started following increased provocations by the US which includes military drills and deployment of warships and submarines in the region.

Pyongyang insists that developing its military defenses including nuclear weapons is important to counter incessant provocations by the US including a possible nuclear aggression.
