Alwaght- Saudi authorities have decided to limit one of the main Hajj rituals to control the crowd, Al Arabiya reported.
Hajj is a yearly Islamic ritual that every capable Muslim should at least perform once in his lifetime.
The Ramie Jamamra or the symbolic stoning of the Devil is carried usually carried out during three days in Mina, near Mecca, Muslims holy city, but this year the authorities have decided to disallow it in certain hours.
Saudi mismanagement caused a stampede during the ritual last year leaving thousands dead. Many countries and Muslim figures protested the Saudi authorities, demanding the control over Hajj to be handed over to an international organization like the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)
Saudi Arabia claimed nearly 770 people were killed in the incident, but officials at Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization said about 4,700 people, including over 460 Iranian pilgrims, lost their lives in Mina.
