Israeli Regime lost the war on Gaza but the struggle for justice goes on

Monday 16 February 2015
Israeli Regime lost the war on Gaza but the struggle for justice goes on

Alwaght- Till when the so called "international community" will keep its blind eye towards Israeli regime's brutal siege of Gaza strip? Till when the so called "Arab League" will remain silent with no attempt to support the Arab Gaza people? Why is it from over 50 Muslim countries, only Iran and its allies in the axis of resistance supporting Gaza?

Israeli regime's blockade of the Gaza Strip has been a huge point of contention since it began in 2007. The blockade covers land, sea, and air, with the green-light given by the US and its Western allies and the support of Egypt, which largely sealed its borders to Gaza after Hamas came to victory in 2006. Israeli regime maintains that the blockade is necessary to prevent rocket attacks on its cities, as the blockade prevents Hamas from obtaining weaponry. Yet critics point out that it is not just military supplies that cannot enter Gaza, but also basic construction materials, medical supplies, and food stuffs. The issue came to international attention in 2010, when a flotilla of activists attempted to break the blockade and carry humanitarian aid into Gaza. Nine were killed when the Israeli regime's militants entered the ship.

Recent reports state that 70 percent of the population of Gaza are refugees. With 1.7 million inhabitants, Gaza has more than 5000 inhabitants per square kilometer, a density which is even higher in the eight refugee camps that have been targeted by Israeli regimes' forces. The fact that Israeli regime bears responsibility for the creation of the refugee catastrophe is beyond argument, but the Zionists have decided to go even further, displacing thousands of people even within this tiny strip.

The fatality count mounted to more than 2200 just in the last 51-days war on Gaza. The civilian infrastructure in Gaza has been destructed by the Zionist assault. Power, water, and medicines are fast disappearing from Gaza, not least after Israeli regime strikes on its sole power plant.

Israeli regime has completely eradicated the industrial system in the Gaza Strip, using its military weapons and applying the illegal siege on the Palestinian territory. Most of Gaza factories, workshops and warehouses were targeted by Israeli regime tanks and warplanes last summer, causing a severely damage the Palestinian economy.

Currently there are less than four thousand people working as fishermen in the Gaza Strip.

As part of the truce agreement fishermen were allowed to fish up to six nautical miles off the coast of Gaza but most Israeli regime attacks are taking place within three or four nautical miles range.

Experts say Israeli regime attacks fishermen as part of its systematic Apartheid policy against Palestinians.

The post-war economic situation has made living conditions hard for the majority of Gaza population, who are still suffering from Israeli regime's siege imposed over the coastal enclave since 2006.

Palestinians say there is no safe place in Gaza. Every single place is a potential Israeli regime target.

Even Palestinian children have become targets of Israeli regime strikes, where more children than Palestinian fighters have been killed in Israeli regime's last war on Gaza, according to the UN.

The killing of children also shows the disregard Israeli regime has for Palestinian lives and assures that every single Palestinian is a possible target for the Zionist army.

Furthermore, the Israeli regime attacks against sewage and electricity plants as well water lines are a further proof that the Zionist attacks are not an act of self-defence.

"An aggressor has no right to self-defence against an occupied people," said a Palestinian politician.

He stated that what Israeli regime is doing is defending its own occupation and the systematic denial of Palestinian national rights.

He added saying that the Zionists are exercising every possible means to dissolve Palestinian national unity and weaken Palestinian institutions.

If certain Western countries and their Arab allies continue to treat Israeli regime as state above the law, we can expect the list of Zionist assaults and crimes to keep growing.

Israeli regime is constantly breaking the truce agreement that ended its recent war on the tiny coastal strip. Then why is there no international condemnation?

Well, we are all aware that the Zionist entity does not care about international law which condemns these violations because it knows that the UN organizations (including the United Nations and the Security Council) does not move a muscle in this area because of the US veto, which foiled yet dozens if not hundreds of resolutions that were demanding to punish this entity and lift the injustice pressed on the Palestinian people.

So how Israeli regime should be confronted?

History and recent facts have shown that resistance is the only way to defeat such a brutal entity. This is because experience has taught the people that there is no such thing as "international community" or "Arab League", and relying on such diplomatic movements will lead to nowhere. This concept has been well understood by Palestinian people.

“We plan to deliver a message to the world, but mainly to [Israeli regime], that all the walls and the attempts to isolate the Palestinian people will not stop us from standing in solidarity with our people in [Baitul Maqdis],” said Muhammed Khatieb, a 40-year-old Palestinian from the village of Bil’n and an organiser of the plan to march to al-Aqsa Mosque.

“We are one people and we are going to challenge the check-points and walls to enter [Baitul Maqdis],” he said.

Palestian resistance movements have already warned Israeli regime that they will attack ferociously if the siege does not stop as agreed to after the last war on Gaza.

Also, the armed wing of Hamas has said Israeli regime will face attacks if they continue to prevent reconstruction projects from taking place in Gaza.

Palestinian resistance factions, including the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), also said they were taking the fresh anti-Gaza rhetoric by the Israeli regime politicians seriously, warning that any attack on the blockaded coastal enclave would be met with fierce resistance.

In any way the Israeli regime's siege on Gaza must be lifted to allow the delivery of food products, proper medical care, energy supplies, etc. And this is most probably going to be achieved with resistance power and nothing else.
