Fraud, Fruit of Political Deadlock in Afghanistan

Alwaght-Three months after the second round of presidential election in Afghanistan, electoral results will be revealed. Dr. Abdullah, leader of Coalition for Change and Hope, has warned that announcement of recounting results without reaching a political consensus will face a serious crisis. Such a request is also emphasized by most of the Afghan political groups, including Jihadis and Ustad Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf.

Nevertheless, negotiations between Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Abdullah Abdullah, proposed by Obama, were fruitless. However, according to Dr. Abdullah his negotiation with Ghani's team was not held under foreign pressure, but he talked to them only for the sake of Afghans' national interests and peaceful manner of Reforms team, Abdullahs team.

According to Abdullah fraudulent votes are not invalidated yet, and the fate of one million invalid votes is vague. Therefore, he warns that we will not accept election's results and will not put up with a fake government, even for one day. He believes that political process was failed due to the avarice of Ashraf Ghani's team.

Meanwhile, Ashraf Ghani's team see themselves as the winner of the second round of the presidential election and believe that Abdullah and his team should accept the results of presidential election announced by electoral commissions and should avoid chaotic actions. Different interpretation of these groups has hindered achieving any agreement. Despite these differences, Hamid Karzai, current Afghanistan President, has repeatedly asked them to agree and to save the country from political confusion. He says "We want candidates to form joint government; one of the be selected as the president the other one execute the affairs… to agree on the formation of a national unity government and put an end to the political deadlock".
