ALWAGHT- Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv was hit by Yemen’s Armed Forces following unsuccessful interception efforts by Israel.
On Sunday, a hypersonic ballistic missile launched by Yemen's Armed Forces struck Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, bypassing four layers of air defense including Israel’s Arrow and US-made THAAD systems. The impact caused massive explosions and a shockwave felt up to 50 km away, injuring at least seven people and damaging several nearby buildings. All flights and train services in the area were suspended, with reports declaring the airport “no longer safe.”
Yemeni military spokesman Yahya Saree stated that the missile strike was a direct response to the ongoing Israeli assault on Gaza and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people. He emphasized the operation’s success in overwhelming advanced defense systems and disrupting the lives of millions. Saree warned that further operations would continue until the blockade on Gaza ends and aggression ceases.
The strike received praise from Palestinian resistance groups, including Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades and the Palestinian Resistance Committees. They commended Yemen’s capabilities and determination, calling the attack a significant blow to Israel’s perceived security. The statements highlighted the growing alliance between Yemen and Palestinian factions, portraying the missile strike as a powerful act of resistance against both Israeli and American forces.
