Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is set to deliver a speech at the 10th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), taking place in Cascais, Portugal, from November 25 to 27.
The forum, themed “United in Peace: Restoring Trust, Reshaping the Future,” will bring together UNAOC Group of Friends members, political leaders, international and regional organization representatives, religious figures, private sector stakeholders, civil society, academics, youth, artists, media professionals, and donor agencies. Attendees will address pressing global issues related to peace and security while emphasizing the need to restore trust and foster unity.
Participants will also reflect on the 20-year journey of the 'Alliance of Civilizations' initiative, launched by Spain during the 59th UN General Assembly in September 2004. The event will celebrate UNAOC's achievements, recognize its growth into a prominent UN entity, and outline a vision for “One Humanity” in the future, according to UNAOC.
