ALWAGHT- The Iranian Jewish community has vehemently denounced the Israeli assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and is demanding retribution.
In a statement, the Iranian Jewish community condemned the assassination of Haniyeh as an act of terrorism and a blatant violation of international law.
"The assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas political office, in Tehran is a terrorist crime and a clear breach of international law," declared the Jewish Association of Iran.
"The martyred Mujahid, a key figure in the Noble Quds liberation movement, had faced martyrdom multiple times. Despite losing family members, he continued to resist and defend the oppressed people of Gaza. The Zionists ultimately martyred him in a treacherous attack on his sanctuary in Tehran," the statement continued.
"The Iranian Jewish community extends its condolences to the heroic Palestinian people, the fighters of the resistance front, and the Eminent Leader [Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei] over the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas political bureau. They eagerly await a decisive and appropriate response to this treacherous act," the statement concluded.
Haniyeh, who was in Tehran for the swearing-in ceremony of Iran's newly-elected President Masoud Pezeshkian, along with other Axis of Resistance leaders, was martyred alongside his bodyguard in an attack early on July 31.
Ayatollah Khamenei has warned the Israeli regime of a "harsh response" to Haniyeh's assassination, declaring it the Islamic Republic's duty to avenge the blood of the Palestinian resistance leader.
"The criminal and terrorist Zionist regime martyred our dear guest on our homeland, leaving us bereaved, but it also set the stage for its own harsh punishment," the Leader stated.
