ALWAGHT- Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad has highlighted Syria's entitlement to reclaim the Golan Heights, which remains under occupation.
During a meeting with the visiting UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad called on the UN to intervene and put an end to the crimes perpetrated by the Israeli occupation in the Golan Heights.
Mekdad stressed the need for the UN to expose the ongoing aggressions of the Israeli regime against Syria and to take decisive action to stop the occupation's raids in the Golan.
He also strongly condemned the recent crime committed by the Zionist regime in Majdal Shams, which resulted in the deaths of 12 children, and rejected any attempts to implicate the Lebanese Resistance in the incident.
This meeting occurred amidst escalating regional tensions and concerns about a potential confrontation between Lebanese Hezbollah and the Israeli regime, with fears of possible spillover effects into Syria.
