ALWAGHT- According to the Iranian foreign minister, regional nations hosting American military bases have received a cautionary message: should the US employ their airspace or territories to aid the Israeli regime in any aggression against Iran, those bases will be targeted by Iran without fail.
During a meeting with foreign ambassadors in Tehran at the Foreign Ministry on Sunday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed Iran's retaliatory operation, named "Operation True Promise," conducted in the early hours of Sunday in response to the Israeli airstrike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus on April 1.
He mentioned that Iran had informed its allies in regional countries approximately 72 hours prior to the operation, affirming that Iran would respond to Israel in accordance with its legitimate right to self-defense.
Underlining Iran's commitment to regional security, the foreign minister stated, "We informed our allies in regional countries, where the United States maintains military bases, that our defensive actions are solely aimed at punishing the Israeli regime."
Amir-Abdollahian clarified that Iran has no intention of targeting American bases or troops across the region, adding, "We stressed that we have never sought to escalate tensions in the region."
The foreign minister reiterated Iran's warning to nations hosting American bases: if the US utilizes their airspace or territory to defend or assist the Zionist regime, the American military bases in those countries will inevitably face retaliation.
Criticizing the US, UK, and France for opposing any UN Security Council statement condemning the Israeli strike on Iran’s embassy in Damascus, Amir-Abdollahian asserted that such actions emboldened the Israeli prime minister to cross red lines and disregard international law.
He highlighted that the Iranian Armed Forces waited for at least 10 days for the outcomes of the Foreign Ministry’s diplomatic efforts on the global stage.
Commending the Iranian forces for their synchronized response against military targets in the occupied territories, the foreign minister emphasized that Iran’s operation was constrained. "We informed the White House today that our operation was limited and aimed at holding the Zionist regime accountable."
