Hezbollah Fully Endorses Lebanon’s National Dialogue
Alwaght- Hezbollah resistance movement in Lebanon has fully endorsed the country’s political dialogue initiative launched by Speaker Nabih Berri on Sunday.
In a statement released Monday, Hezbollah hailed Berri’s initiative as a “serious opportunity” to get out of the current political crisis in the country.
“Hezbollah voices full support for the dialogue initiative launched by Speaker Berri,” the resistance movement said in the statement.
The resistance movement added that it views as a serious opportunity to reach a permanent solution for the current political, economic and social crises that threaten the Lebanese people.
Hezbollah also expressed optimism that all Lebanese factions will positively deal with the initiative and work for its success.
Earlier on Sunday, Speaker Berri called for a political dialogue session that joins the leaders of different parliamentary blocs and the Prime Minister Tamam Salam.
During a rally in the southern town of Nabatieh to mark the 37th anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Sayyed Mussa al-Sadr, Berri said that he would call for the dialogue session within the first ten days of September.
The session would focus on the presidential vacancy, the work of the Parliament and the Cabinet, a new electoral law, devolution and equipping the Army.
Lebanon has been stuck in political crisis since former President Michel Sleiman’s tenure ended in May 2014, with the parliament still unable to choose a successor to him.
