Six Russian Tu-22M3 long-haul bombers delivered an airstrike on ISIS terrorist group remnants in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor, on Friday.

Alwaght- Six Russian Tu-22M3 long-haul bombers delivered an airstrike on ISIS terrorist group remnants in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor, the Russian defense ministry said on Friday.

"On December 1, 2017, six Tu-22M3 long-haul bombers delivered an airstrike on ISIS terrorists’ targets in the province of Deir ez-Zor," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, the warplanes, which took off for an airfield in Russia, hit terrorists’ command posts and manpower.

"All designated targets were hit," the ministry said, adding that unmanned aerial vehicles recorded the results of the bombing.

Su-30SM fighter jets based at the Khmeimim airdrome provided backing for the bombers in Syria’s airspace.

Backed by popular forces and Iranian military advisors, armed forces in Iraq and Syria have managed to flush ISIS terrorists out of their last strongholds in both countries.

Remnants of the defeated terrorist groups are still hiding in liberated areas as the armed forces of the two countries and their allies continue operations to clean up all areas where the Takfiri terrorists might be hiding.

In a letter addressed to Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei two weeks ago, Major General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), declared the collapse of ISIS in both Iraq and Syria.
