ALWAGHT- A military spokesperson stated on Monday that the actions of the United States and Canada disrupted the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait in response to the passage of US and Canadian warships through the strait on Sunday.
Li Xi, a spokesperson for the Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, stated that the command is always on high alert and is committed to protecting national sovereignty and security, as well as maintaining regional peace and stability.
The spokesperson confirmed that on Sunday, the US destroyer Higgins and the Canadian frigate Vancouver transited through the strait.
Li noted that naval and air forces organized by the command closely tracked and monitored the vessels throughout their passage, responding to the situation in accordance with laws and regulations.
