ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani rejected the claim that an Iranian serviceman has been involved in training Russian military forces on Ukrainian soil.
Nasser Kanaani dismissed the unfounded claims that an Iranian military officer was present on Ukrainian soil to train Russian forces. He reiterated Iran's opposition to war, stressing the importance of ending the conflict and resolving disputes between Russia and Ukraine through peaceful means.
Kanaani argued that such unfounded accusations are driven by specific political motives and contradict Iran's consistent stance on the Ukraine conflict.
His comments followed a statement by Ukraine's prosecutor general, Andriy Kostin, who announced an investigation into an Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) general on suspicion of aiding Russia in war crimes against Ukraine. Kostin alleged that an agreement was made between Russian military officials and Iran in mid-2022 for the purchase of Shahed-136 and Mohajer-6 attack drones, along with related equipment.
Iran has consistently and categorically denied any involvement in the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
