ALWAGHT- In his first official meeting with a foreign dignitary as Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi engaged in talks with his Qatari counterpart in Tehran on Monday, August 26.
Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani arrived in Iran on Monday for a series of negotiations.
During their meeting at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Araghchi and Al Thani discussed Tehran-Doha relations and the latest regional developments, with a particular focus on the situation in Palestine.
The senior Qatari diplomat, who also serves as the prime minister of Qatar, is scheduled to meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
In recent weeks, Qatar has been actively involved in negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza.
