Iranian Spokesman: US Not Committed to Gaza Ceasefire

Iranian Spokesman: US Not Committed to Gaza Ceasefire

ALWAGHT- The US is not genuinely committed to securing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, as it continues to arm the Israeli regime in its assault on Palestinians, stated Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani.

Speaking at a weekly press conference on Monday, Kanaani criticized the US president's proposal for a Gaza truce.

“The US has supported the Zionist regime in all the crimes committed against Palestine. There is no indication that the US is serious about establishing a ceasefire in Gaza,” he added.

Kanaani argued that if the US were sincere about creating a ceasefire in Gaza, it would not have provided arms to the Zionist regime and bolstered its arsenals in the first place.

The Iranian spokesman also pointed to the resignations of Israeli cabinet ministers as evidence of the "internal collapse" of the Zionist regime, its failure to achieve its objectives in Gaza, and its strategic defeat.

His remarks followed the resignation of Israeli minister Benny Gantz from the Zionist regime’s emergency government amid a months-long assault on Gaza.
