Iran and the United Nations are in talks concerning the challenges confronting Syria

ALWAGHT- A high-ranking adviser to Iran's foreign minister for special political affairs and the UN Special Envoy for Syria convened discussions on the recent developments in the Arab nation and the collaborative endeavors aimed at resolving Syria's challenges.

During a videoconference on Tuesday, Ali Asghar Khaji and Geir O. Pedersen discussed the recent developments in Syria. They deliberated on strategies to enhance the humanitarian conditions in Syria, combat terrorism, and sustain the political processes within the Arab nation.

Khaji voiced apprehension over the humanitarian crisis in Syria, highlighting the actions of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people and the ongoing Israeli aggression towards Syria and Lebanon. He emphasized that these actions have disrupted regional stability and hindered progress in Syria.

During a UN Security Council session on April 25, Pedersen advocated for a fresh and inclusive strategy to tackle Syria's political and humanitarian dilemmas.

Pedersen emphasized that the novel approach "should involve the complete participation of essential stakeholders, encompassing the Syrian factions and the international players in the Astana format, the Arab Contact Group, the Western Quad, and this Council."
