Alwaght- Iran’s Supreme Leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with Nigeria’s top Shiite cleric Ibrahim Zakzaky said that it is a duty for all Muslims to support Palestinians in their fight against Israeli occupation.
“Everyone in the Islamic world has a duty to help the Palestinian people,” he said.
Referring to the Al-Aqsa Storm operation launched by Palestinian Resistance forces against the Israeli regime, he said that today, one of the manifestations of the power of Islam is the issues that are happening in Palestine.
Expressing regret over the Palestinians’ suffering from the Israeli regime’s crimes, the Leader said that the Palestinians’ anti-Zionist movements will lead to their full victory.
He continued: “The developments of recent days in Palestine, especially the bombings and the martyrdom of women, children and men, hurt the human heart, but the other side of these developments shows the incredible power of Islam in Palestine, and with the grace and mercy of God Almighty, this movement that has started in Palestine will go ahead and lead to the complete victory of the Palestinians.”
The leader of the Nigerian Shiites arrived in Iran last week along with his wife. In recent years, he was under a crackdown by the Nigerian government. He was imprisoned and denied medical treatment after taking injuries following a raid on his home by security forces in 2015.
