Alwaght- Islamic Republic of Iran Footbal Federation has lodged protest with the FIFA over national flag alteration by the US men's national soccer team (USMNT).
Ahead of the match, the USMNT social media account has stirred tensions by posting a graphic of the Group B standings featuring England, Iran, the US, and Wales.
But the Iranian flag in the graphic did not contain the central “Allah” emblem and just the horizontal green, white, and red colors are shown.
“In an unprofessional act, the Instagram page of the US football federation removed the Allah symbol from the Iranian flag, IRNA news agency cited a statement by the Iranian federation, adding: “The Iran Football Federation sent an email to FIFA to demand it issue a serious warning to the US federation.”
This American mischief is seen a continuation of a series of US hostilities against Iran.
American officials have been accused of interfering in Iran's home affairs by supporting riots in the country.
The removal of the emblem symbolizes a subversive agenda of the White House against Iran implemented on the ground several times but failed each time by rioters apparently supported propagandistically and separatist groups armed and harbored by the Western countries.
Iran and the US cut diplomatic relations in 1980, a year after a popular revolution removed the pro-Western monarchy and installed the Islamic Republic.
