Alwaght- A high ranking Islamic cleric in al-Quds (Jerusalem) has slammed the Palestinian Authority (PA) for its failure to defend al-Aqsa Mosque from regular incursions and desecration by Israeli forces and extremist settlers.
President of the Supreme Islamic Council and preacher of the Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri has expressed regret that the Ramallah based PA is not doing anything in Occupied al-Quds because it shackled itself by the Oslo Accords..
Sheikh Sabri told Quds Press that “the state of alert and the ongoing confrontations at al-Aqsa Mosque indicate that the Israeli regime is unable to implement its aggressive plans of dividing the holy site.”
“Storming the Aqsa Mosque on Monday aims at imposing the temporal division between Muslims and Jews. Assigning Sunday for Muslims and Monday for Jews is not accepted and aims at implementing the temporal division scheme which made dozens of Muslims stage a permanent sit-in at the Mosque and confront the settlers’ incursions into the Mosque,” he added.
Sheikh Sabri urged the Arabs and Muslims as well as freedom lovers across the world to work on halting the Israeli plans of imposing temporal division at al-Aqsa Mosque.
Meanwhile Quds Press reported on Monday that Israeli regime forces imposed a tight siege around al-Aqsa Mosque, preventing the entry of worshipers below the age of 50.
Earlier Monday, heavily-armed Israeli regime troops stormed Muslims’ holy al-Aqsa Mosque and cracked down on the peaceful Muslim sit-inners.
The occupation troops further climbed over the rooftops of the Qibli Mosque before they showered the unarmed Muslim peaceful protestor holding vigil inside the Qibli place of worship with tear gas canisters and rubber bullets.
The Israeli regime troops smashed the windows of the Qibli Mosque, where snipers were heavily deployed.
The invading Israeli troops further attacked the female and male Muslim worshipers and attempted to force them out of the Mosque. Meanwhile, dozens of settlers were allowed into the Mosque amid heavy protection of Israeli forces.
