Alwaght - Senior Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, official Mousa Abu Marzouk has said that the resistance in the West Bank will not stop until victory against the occupation and restoring the usurped Palestinian rights.
In Facebook remarks on Thursday, Abu Marzouk stressed that the Palestinians have a natural right to resist the occupation on their own land.
"What the resistance heroes are doing in Al Quds and the West Bank is the duty imposed upon them by their religion and their country, and it is an obligation that every honorable person feels proud of," the Hamas official underlined.
He also described the Palestinians who had been either arrested or killed as a result of the security collaboration between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli occupation as "the pride of the Muslim nation."
Abu Marzouk made his remarks in response to Israeli regime's killing of a Palestinian man during a raid on his house on Thursday in Beit Ummar town, north of al-Khalil.
Falah Abu Mariya, 53, was shot three times in the chest during a raid on his home on Thursday morning.
Later in the day, thousands of Palestinian mourners took part in a funeral procession for Mariya. The victim’s body was carried by the mourners through the troubled region, with the participants calling for the “avenging” of his death.
The Palestinians chanted anti-Israeli slogans and called on the international community to break its silence on Tel Aviv regime's acts of violence against Palestinians across the occupied lands.
The funeral was largely peaceful until Israeli regime forces attacked protesters and fired tear gas canisters and rubber bullets to disperse the demonstrators. The protesters threw stones at Israeli troops in return.
Unconfirmed reports also indicate that the Israeli regime troops also used live ammunition to disperse the crowds. Several mourners are said to have been injured during the clashes with Israeli regime forces.
International organizations and human rights groups say the Israeli regime continues to enforce restrictions on the freedom of movement of Palestinians in the West Bank and other occupied territories.
