ALWAGHT- Iran has condemned Israel's participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics due to its ongoing genocidal conflict with Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, and is calling for the exclusion of Israel's Olympic delegation from the games.
In a post on its official X account, the Iranian Foreign Ministry criticized the “reception and protection” of Israeli athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympics, citing the regime’s brutal war against the blockaded Gaza Strip.
"Welcoming and safeguarding the Apartheid and terrorist Zionist regime’s delegation only serves to legitimize their actions against innocent people,” the ministry stated on X. “They do not deserve to be at the Paris Olympics due to their war on the people of Gaza.”
The Israeli Olympic delegation arrived in Paris on Monday, ahead of Friday’s opening ceremony, and was placed under round-the-clock security by French police.
This arrival comes amidst growing international condemnation over the high civilian casualties in Gaza and the severe humanitarian crisis there.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has also urged the organizers to exclude Israel from the games.
