Pakistanis in Islamabad Mark Arbaeen with Marches

Alwaght- Thousands of Pakistanis joined the Arbaeen procession to pay tribute to Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions in the capital Islamabad.

People from nearby towns march to join the Arbaeen trek to commemorate the distance traveled by the Holy family of Imam Hussain (AS).

The mourners start to get together at noon at the Central Mosque of Islamabad, and after the Duhr prayer, the procession starts, Iran Press reported.

Among other iconic marks, the most famous is the analogy of Imam Hussain (AS) and his bravest brother Hazrat Abbas (AS), while the participants bring the flags, cradles, and water pots to remember the thirsty family of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Special tribute is paid to the brave sister of Imam Hussain (AS) Hazrat Bibi Zaynab (AS), also known as the victorious of Sham (Syria), who played an important role in keeping the Karbala message alive.

The uniqueness of the Arbareen procession is that not only the local people but also Persian and Dari-speaking groups get together to express their grief and sorrow.

After a mile walk back to the Central Mosque of Islamabad, the day-long procession ends by night.
