Alwaght- Palestinians residing in the East al-Quds neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah protested in front of the Israeli regime's District Court against severe sentences demanded by the prosecutor against detainees who stood up for extremist Israeli settlers who attacked their homes and property in May of last year.
The protesters, whose sons were detained and put on trial, raised banners denouncing the unjust sentences demanded by the Israeli prosecution against their sons.
One resident said her son, Bilal Jabari, 19, was detained a year ago for standing up to the settlers who attacked their homes in Sheikh Jarrah and is facing a possible eight-year sentence requested by the prosecutor.
The Israeli courts recently passed similar harsh sentences against Palestinians who resisted against radical Zionists after attacking their homes and neighborhoods in mixed Arab-Jewish towns in May of last year while Israelis involved in the attacks were acquitted.
