Alwaght- Lebanon's agriculture minister met with Iranian ambassador in Beirut and discussed the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
On Monday, at a meeting with Mojtaba Amani, Iran's ambassador to Beirut, Abbas Hajj Hassan, called for a dialogue on the problems of Lebanon's agricultural sector and its solutions and to expand cooperation between the two countries in this field.
"The relations between Iran and Lebanon in the agricultural sector are very old and imports and exports are carried out between the two countries," he told Iranian news outlet Iran Press.
He further stated that the meeting with the Iranian ambassador was" friendly", during which the memorandums of understanding between the two countries in the field of expanding agricultural cooperation were discussed.
Hajj Hassan continued that the Iranian and Lebanese ministries of agriculture have a mission to investigate the mechanism of expanding cooperation by drawing a new perspective so that the MoUs become a cooperation document in the framework of the consultation of the technical committees.
He emphasized that the Lebanese government is looking for the best relations with regional states, and with no doubt, the Islamic Republic of Iran is a friend of Lebanon and the expansion of cooperation between the two countries is in the interest of the Lebanese people.
