ALWAGHT- Iranian Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has expressed confidence that Lebanon and Yemen, as prominent symbols of Resistance, will ultimately prevail despite the immense challenges they face.
On Wednesday, Iranian Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei honored the extraordinary sacrifices of Iran's top anti-terror commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, who was martyred in a US drone strike near Baghdad in 2020. Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that Soleimani's steadfast strategy was to strengthen the Resistance Front, and he remained dedicated to revitalizing resistance efforts throughout his life. The remarks were made during a meeting with the families of martyrs, veterans, and resistance figures, as the fifth anniversary of Soleimani's assassination approaches on January 3.
Ayatollah Khamenei praised Soleimani's strategic vision and sacrifices, calling his contributions "unique" in defending Iran’s sovereignty and the broader Resistance Front. He stressed that Soleimani's efforts focused on protecting sacred sites such as Al-Aqsa Mosque, the holy shrines in Iraq and Syria, and the land of Iran. The Iranian Leader reaffirmed that the sacrifices of martyrs, particularly those defending these sites, were never in vain, and that they were crucial in preserving the integrity of these sacred landmarks.
The Iranian Leader also highlighted Soleimani's pivotal role in mobilizing and arming Resistance fighters across the Middle East, particularly in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. He acknowledged the contributions of martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in these efforts and declared that the Resistance movements in Lebanon and Yemen, despite facing significant challenges, would ultimately triumph. Khamenei criticized foreign powers, especially the US, for their attempts to manipulate the region, asserting that the enemies would be forced to leave in humiliation.
The Leader also addressed the situation in Syria, affirming that Syria belongs to the Syrians and warning that US military bases in the country would eventually be dismantled by the resistance of Syrian youth. He cautioned that any nation that weakens its national resilience, especially by sidelining its youth, risks falling prey to foreign interference. Concluding his address, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated the importance of safeguarding enduring values to preserve the resilience and dignity of nations in the face of external threats.
