Hezbollah Fires Missile Barrage at Israeli Air Base in Retaliation for Lethal Attack

Hezbollah Fires Missile Barrage at Israeli Air Base in Retaliation for Lethal Attack

ALWAGHT- The Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement launched rockets at an Israeli military base near Safed in northern Israel, in retaliation for an Israeli attack in southern Lebanon that resulted in the deaths of three people, including a child.

On Friday, Lebanon's Hezbollah launched a barrage of Katyusha rockets at an Israeli air base in northern Israel.

The resistance group identified the target as the ‘main missile air defense base’ of Israel’s Northern Command, located at the Berea barracks near Safed, approximately 12 kilometers from the Lebanese border.

The attack resulted in fires and widespread power outages, according to local reports.

Israel’s military reported that around 20 rockets were fired from Lebanon, with most being intercepted.

This incident marks the second attack on the Berea barracks since October, following the escalation of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel after the outbreak of the Gaza war.

Hezbollah stated that the strike was a retaliation for an Israeli attack in Kfar Jouz, southern Lebanon, on Thursday. The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that the Israeli strike killed three people, including a child, and injured three others.

A source close to Hezbollah confirmed that one of the victims was a Hezbollah fighter.

Hezbollah has pledged to continue retaliatory strikes as long as Israeli attacks on Gaza persist.

Israel initiated its military campaign against Gaza on October 7, following a Hamas attack in response to increased Israeli aggression towards the Palestinian people.

Since then, the Israeli government has imposed a full siege on Gaza, cutting off essential supplies to over two million residents.

Since the offensive began, Israeli forces have martyred 41,118 Palestinians and injured nearly 95,125 others.
