ALWAGHT- The Iranian Parliament strongly condemned Canada’s decision to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist entity, expressing firm support for the IRGC and its pivotal role in enhancing Iran’s regional and international standing.
In a statement signed by over 250 lawmakers, the Iranian Parliament denounced the Canadian government’s “ill-advised” decision to designate the IRGC as a terrorist entity, calling the move “idiotic” and a violation of international laws and regulations, which they claim demonstrates Canada’s support for the Zionist regime.
The MPs urged the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to use all political and international avenues to condemn Canada’s action.
The statement also accused Canada, a known supporter of the Zionist regime and its actions in Gaza, of blacklisting the IRGC following Iran’s retaliatory True Promise Operation against Israeli military targets, citing recent “strategic developments.”
In a hostile act against Iran, Canada’s Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc on June 19 listed the IRGC as a terrorist entity under the Criminal Code and advised Canadians in Iran to leave.
Last month, the Canadian House of Commons passed a non-binding resolution urging Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government to blacklist the IRGC and expel approximately 700 Iranians.
This action makes Canada the second country in North America, after the United States, to blacklist the IRGC.
