Alwaght- Israeli regime forces have killed at least four Palestinians during “The Great March of Return” weekly protests along the Occupied Territories-Gaza border, on Friday.
The killing brings the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli regime forces since the protests began on March 30 to 141. More than 160,000 others were wounded.
Protesters taking part in the weeks-long Great March of Return rallies have been calling for the right of refugees and their descendants to return to the homes and lands from which they were violently expelled from in 1948.
The protests in Gaza, which began on the anniversary of the 1976 Land Day, have witnessed participants from all walks of life and a number of activities such as football matches, prayers and the traditional music.
However, the Israeli regime's response included firing explosive bullets, live ammunition, and tear gas - drawing widespread condemnation from the international rights groups.
In previous demonstrations, protesters burned hundreds of tyres, creating a smokescreen to protect them from sniper fire.
Gaza has been under an inhuman siege imposed by the Israeli regime since June 2007, causing a decline in living standards as well as unprecedented unemployment and poverty.
Israel has also launched several wars on the Palestinian sliver, the last of which began in early July 2014 and ended in late August the same year. The Israeli military aggression killed nearly 2,200 Palestinians and injured over 11,100 others.
