Syrian Army Makes Major Advances in Militant-Held Southwestern Provinces

Syrian Army Makes Major Advances in Militant-Held Southwestern Provinces

Alwaght- Syrian Army has made major advances in Southern provinces of Draa and Quneitra against US-backed militants.

The famous “Triangle of Death” in Daraa is now under the Syrian Army’s full control after a 48 hour long battle with the militants near the Quneitra border axis.

Leading the charge to capture the Triangle of Death was the elite Tiger Forces, who captured most of the sites from the terrorists of Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham, al-Qaeda branch in Syria.

The Tiger Forces were responsible for the capture of Tal Al-Harrah and Kafr Shams in the Triangle of Death, which later paved the way for another major advance later in the day.

According to a military source in Daraa, the Syrian Army has captured the towns of Kafr Nasej, Salim and Nimr, giving them full control of the Triangle of Death. The army also said the militant-held towns of Qusaiba, Sweisa and Ain Teineh had raised the national flag.

The Syrian Army will now work to clear the remaining towns along the Quneitra axis before making the big push into the southern part of this province.

Syria's state TV also reported on Monday that the Syrian army hastaken control of a strategic hill overlooking the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The hilltop, which had a major anti-aircraft radar base that was part of elaborate Syrian army defenses against Israeli regime, and is the highest ground in Deraa province, fell into militants hands in October 2014.

The Russian Aerospace Forces have already begun launching heavy airstrikes over the Quneitra Governorate, which will likely keep Israeli regime from shooting down any jets near the occupied Golan Heights.

In the past, Israel would not allow the Syrian Air Force to fly close to their border; however, a non-aggression agreement is in place between the Russians and Israelis to avoid any potential conflicts.
