Alwaght- Iran's precondition for talks on its missile program is for the US and certain European states to destroy their long-range missiles and nuclear weapons, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has said.
"What Americans say out of desperation with regards to limiting the Islamic Republic of Iran's missile capabilities is an unattainable dream resulting from their regional failures and defeats," Deputy Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri said on Saturday.
He also denounced recent anti-Tehran remarks by some US and European officials and said, “What Americans say out of desperation about putting restrictions on Iran’s missile power is their unattainable dream.”
Such remarks against the Islamic Republic have their roots in Washington’s failures and defats in the region, the commander added.
If the development of Iran’s defense power had been subjected to political negotiations, the country would not have been able to put the US in such a position of weakness, he stressed.
Iranian officials have repeatedly warned that the country’s missile program is not open to any negotiations amid US President Donald Trump's constant efforts to link Iran's missile program to the 2015 multilateral nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
