Alwaght- Palestinians have condemned the visit by Egypt’s foreign minister to Al Quds (Jeruslem), a Palestinian city under occupation by the Israeli regime.
Sheikh Kamal al-Khatib, deputy head of the Islamic Movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, has criticized Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shukri for visiting Jerusalem while it is still under occupation, calling his visit a "crime."
In press remarks, Khatib said that Shukri's visit on Sunday to Occupied al Quds is considered recognition of Israeli regime’s attempts to Judaize the holy city and to divide the Aqsa Mosque.
He expressed his belief that the Egyptian official's visit was part of the diplomacy aimed at strengthening the US and Israeli hegemony over the region and not for promoting peace.
Shukri arrived on Sunday in 1948 Occupied Palestine in a mission ordered by Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi. He met Israeli regime’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Sources say the so called peace process was the main issue on the agenda during the meeting with Shukri presenting Egyptian suggestions for enhancing ‘peace’ initiatives of France and al-Sisi.
Meanwhile Zionist media outlets claim that Netanyahu officially asked Egypt's foreign minister Shukri, during a meeting in occupied al Quds, for an Egyptian intervention to help get back the Zionists detained in Gaza. Shukri, for his part, responded affirmatively to Netanyahu's request and pledged to take steps in this regard.
This development came up after families of Zionists detained in Gaza intensified their pressure on the Tel Aviv regime to return their sons. There are reportedly four Zionists, including three Israeli regime troops, being held by al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hams in Gaza. The Brigades said last April that it would not provide free information on the Zionist captives.
