Alwaght- Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, says contemporary ignorance has emerged and is exploiting science and technology to serve evil objectives adding that Muslims need to confront this phenomenon.
In his speech on the occasion of Eid al-Mab'ath celebrating the divine revelation to Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be upon Him) to declare his Prophethood, the Leader said United States leaders see Iran as a hurdle to their policies. During the meeting attended by high-ranking state officials and Muslim ambassadors in Tehran on Thursday, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed out that, “Lately, the Americans have announced that Iran’s policy in the region is a cause for sanctions and confrontation, meaning ‘you, the Iranian people who are vigilant and aware; you have to back down and let us do our work’.”
“This is ignorance,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, using the word Jahilliyah or "days of ignorance" which refers to the barbaric condition in which Arabs found themselves in pre-Islamic Arabia.
The Leader elaborated on the concept of Mab’ath according to Holy Quran; “Mab’ath is Eid of Prophet’s mission and the day of reference to Divine nature of creation and toward a life associated with “rationality, liberality, justice & servitude towards God” and that prophets were mandated to guide people towards this nature within the framework of guidelines by God Almighty.”
Leader of Revolution underlined that the opposite front to Mab’ath was Ignorance (Jahiliyya) which have been facing each other from the beginning of Islam up to now. “Today, the most important duty of Islamic Nation is confrontation against Ignorance movement which is led by the United States and the pioneer on the path of Mab’ath is the Islamic Republic of Iran which continues the way the late Imam Khomeini began without any fear from bullying powers,” he said and continued that “Ignorance is not a movement bound to the era of Prophet; it is a lasting movement standing against the front of prophets and has reappeared in a new shape by exploiting science and technology.”
He dubbed afflictions such as two world wars and killing of millions of people, exploitation of nations and their resources, and oppression of people ‘under the boots of colonialism’ as consequences of contemporary Ignorance and provided the example of India whom the Britain inflicted huge afflictions upon. “Ongoing wars and conflicts in western part of Asia are the consequences of what the front of Ignorance and Evil has done.”
Ayatollah Khamenei deemed the Zionist movement dominating the world a clear example of system-making by evils; “current situation of the world is the result of dominance of a widespread network of Zionist capitalists who rule even the government in the US and grasp of parties to power is based on their viewpoints,” he said. “That is why nowadays, the absolute policy of the United States and its following states is to confront Islam, Iran and Shiism.”
The Leader described vigilance and awareness of the Iranian nation and Islamic nations as the factor angering the corrupting powers; “that is why Iran is under sanctions due to its opposition to US policies in the region, because the Islamic Republic is an obstacle to their excessive policies in region.”
The Islamic Revolution’s Leader reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never invaded other countries, while ‘evil powers’ have used atomic bombs against hundreds of thousands of human beings in Hiroshima, and still years after it, ‘they refuse to apologize for that.’
“Corrupted & corrupting groups who are today committing the worst crimes in name of Islam are under support of western powers,” Ayatollah Khamenei asserted. “The West pretends to form a coalition against ISIS, while they are in fact supporting them and in line with their anti-Islamic campaigns, introduce them as ‘Islamic State’ to distort the image of Islam.”
Pointing to expansion of Islamic movements across the world which is despite the anti-Islamic approach of the Ignorance movement, he concluded that “Islamic movement, who gained more momentum with the formation of Islamic System in Iran, will continue its way and will certainly achieve victory.”
