11 Armed Forces killed as Terrorists Attack IRGC’s Base in Western Iran

Alwaght- Eleven forces from Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have died as a result of an attack by terrorists in the country's western province of Kurdestan.

Marivan Governor Mohammad Shafiee told Fars news agency on Saturday that the casualties came after a terrorist group attacked an IRGC base in  Dari Roy village of Marivan city at 3:30 a.m. (local Time) Friday night.

He also noted that eight forces had been injured in the attack which was followed by an explosion in the weapons depot at the base.

No group has claimed responsibility for the assault as of yet.

The IRGC announced in a statement as quoted by Fars News Agency that a certain number of terrorists had also been killed during the assault and that the remnants of the group of assailants had fled with wounds received from Iranian forces.

Over the past years, Iranian security forces and border guards have engaged in clashes with terror groups, many of whom cross the country's borders with Pakistan and Iraq to carry out attacks inside Iran.
